Policies and governance

Open about how we work.

How we are governed, how we keep people safe, how to raise a concern, and how we look after the information people share with us.

A community interest company, run for community benefit.

Stalwart Support Homes CIC is a community interest company (CIC) registered in England and Wales, company number 17530093.

As a CIC, we exist to benefit the community rather than private shareholders. Our focus is supporting access to suitable accommodation for people who may benefit from a stable home environment and coordinated support.

We work in partnership with care providers, including Stalwart Odrit Achievers Ltd, which are separate organisations. Each retains its own responsibilities, governance and legal identity. Stalwart Support Homes CIC focuses on accommodation-related arrangements; regulated care is delivered by the relevant care provider within its applicable CQC registration, service scope and agreed contracts.

Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility.

We are committed to promoting the safety, dignity and rights of every person who lives in accommodation we facilitate.

  • Safeguarding and risk are considered before any placement is progressed.
  • Concerns are taken seriously, recorded and acted on promptly.
  • We work with local authority safeguarding teams, the care provider and other agencies, and make referrals where required.
  • Placements involving young people aged 16–17 only proceed where the relevant legal, safeguarding and regulatory requirements are met.
  • We support positive risk-taking that has been properly assessed and planned, so safety never comes at the cost of a person’s rights.

Raising a concern or complaint.

We welcome feedback, and we want to hear when something has gone wrong so we can put it right and learn from it.

  1. 01

    Tell us

Contact us by phone, email or post. Please tell us what happened, when, and what you would like us to do.

  2. 02

    We respond

We will acknowledge your complaint, explain how it will be handled and tell you when you can expect a full response.

  3. 03

    If you’re not satisfied

We will explain the next steps, including any independent organisations you may be able to approach.

Complaints about accommodation arrangements should be made to us. Complaints about care or support should be made to the care provider — if you are not sure which applies, contact us and we will make sure your concern reaches the right organisation. Making a complaint will never affect the support a person receives.

How we use personal information.

Stalwart Support Homes CIC is responsible for the personal information it collects. We handle it in line with UK data protection law, including the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

What we collect

Contact details and professional information from people who get in touch with us, and — only where necessary and shared through an appropriate secure process — information about people being referred for accommodation, so that a placement can be properly considered.

How we use it

To respond to enquiries, consider and arrange accommodation, coordinate with the care provider and commissioners where appropriate, meet our legal and safeguarding obligations, and keep proper records.

Equality, diversity and inclusion.

Inclusion is one of our core values, and it shapes how we consider every enquiry.

We are committed to treating everyone fairly and with respect, regardless of age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage or civil partnership, pregnancy or maternity, race, religion or belief, sex or sexual orientation.

We consider people’s communication needs, cultural and religious preferences and accessibility requirements when looking at accommodation, and we aim to make our information easy to access and understand. If you need information in another format, please ask.
